Congregational & Community Care

Ways we serve

Argyle Presbyterian Elders and Deacons provide care, concern, prayer and support for families and individuals at various circumstances of life.  We engage the congregation in service to one another.

"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."

Galatians 5:13

Ways We Serve

Dial a Meal & Meal Train

Would a meal help?  In times of physical and emotional turmoil we are here to help with the daily undertakings including meals and running errands.  To find out the current need in our congregation please visit the members page of this website.

Prayer Blankets

A prayer blanket provides comfort.  Materials are readily available to anyone that would like to make a prayer blanket for someone that could use a comforting pick me up.

Compassionate Care Gifts

In the small area behind the praise team, there is a freezer stocked with baked goods, frozen soups and breads.  On the table next to the freezer is a box with mugs, tea, cards, devotional books, and gift bags.  These items are available to any member of the congregation that would like to let someone know they are thinking about them.  Be it a joy or a concern, feel free to share the love of Jesus Christ with these small tokens.  If you would like assistance, please contact a Deacon.

Our Friends At Home

Letting our friends that are in nursing homes or are house bond know that they are loved and being prayed for.  At Christmas we deliver homemade Christmas cookies.  At Easter we deliver spring flowers.  Throughout the year we send cards, call and stop in.

Food Pantry

Food is provided by church members, community groups, USPS food drives, and government grants, to help feed families in need in Argyle.  Located inside the yellow house behind the church, the Food Pantry is open on Saturdays from 10 am to noon, and is staffed by volunteers.

Open Door Soup Kitchen - Glens Falls
